KOTA KINABALU: In the spirit of the festive season, members of the Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH) Sabah/Labuan Chapter have joined forces to bring warmth and joy to patients and healthcare workers at Queen Elizabeth Hospital II (QEH2).
The initiative, co-organised by Love’s Foundation, a non-profit organisation dedicated to supporting underprivileged and marginalised communities, in collaboration with Queen Elizabeth Hospital II, will see approximately 500 beneficiaries receiving specially prepared festive cookies contributed by participating hotels.
A total of around 500 individuals, including patients, caregivers and hospital personnel, will benefit from the thoughtful gesture. Fourteen hotels took part in this meaningful effort, each contributing 50 packets of cookies, with two pieces in each packet.
The participating hotels include Le Méridien Kota Kinabalu, Grandis Hotels and Resorts, Hyatt Centric Kota Kinabalu, Promenade Hotel Kota Kinabalu, Monocolo Boutique Hotel, Shangri-La Kota Kinabalu, Gaya Centre Hotel, Raia Hotel Kota Kinabalu, Dreamtel Kota Kinabalu, Horizon Hotel Kota Kinabalu, Sabah Oriental Hotel, Mercure Kota Kinabalu, Hyatt Regency Kinabalu and Hilton Kota Kinabalu.
Suresh Ramasamy, General Manager of Le Méridien Kota Kinabalu and Chairman of the MAH Sabah/Labuan Chapter, expressed his appreciation for the solidarity shown by the hotel community.
“Christmas is a time for generosity, compassion and connection. We are humbled to extend a gesture of warmth to the patients and staff at QEH2, and deeply grateful to our fellow members for coming together with a shared purpose. This donation is a reminder that hospitality is not only about service within our hotels, but also about caring for the wider community.”
The donation was formally handed over at the lobby of Le Méridien Kota Kinabalu, marking a heartfelt start to the festive season for both the contributors and recipients.
