KOTA KINABALU: Political stability is the primary prerequisite for the state's development and prosperity.

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Noor stressed that the State Government remains steadfast in its commitment to strengthening the political stability currently enjoyed in Sabah.

He said the State Government has outlined a more strategic and comprehensive roadmap to propel Sabah to a higher level of development through the Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) 2.0 development plan.

“SMJ 2.0 is not merely a plan on paper, but a clear commitment to transforming the state’s economy, empowering human capital and ensuring that the welfare of the people remains a priority,” he said in his 2026 Hari Raya Aidilfitri message.

The Chief Minister called upon all Sabahans to use the Aidilfitri celebrations as a catalyst to renew their resolve, strengthen unity and redouble efforts toward building a more advanced and prosperous Sabah under the Sabah Maju Jaya agenda.

“Aidilfitri is a symbol of victory over one's desires, the triumph of nurturing the soul with patience and sincerity and a celebration of strengthening bonds among family members, neighbours and the whole community."

“In this blessed land of Sabah, Aidilfitri is celebrated in a spirit of goodwill by people of various races and religions. This is our true strength, unity in diversity."

“The values of mutual respect, tolerance and togetherness that we have inherited for so long must continue to be preserved as the foundation of the state's stability and progress,” he added.
