Pomp And Pageantry Apparent At Head Of State 75th Official Birthday Parade

KOTA KINABALU: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Noor attended the parade ceremony held in conjunction with the 75th official birthday celebration of the Head of State at Padang Merdeka here on Monday.

Accompanied by his wife Datin Seri Panglima Datuk Hajah Juliah Salag, Hajiji arrived at 7.55 am and received the salute from the Main Guard of Honour upon taking his place on the main stage.

The ceremony, steeped in customs and traditions, reached its peak with the arrival of the Head of State, Tun Datuk Seri Panglima (Dr.) Musa Haji Aman, together with his consort Toh Puan Datin Seri Panglima Datuk Hajah Faridah Haji Tussin at 8am.

Upon arrival, the national and state anthems were played, followed by a 17-gun salute as a mark of honour.

The Head of State then received the royal salute and inspected the main Guard of Honour.

He proceeded to inspect the contingents representing various government agencies, statutory bodies, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), ethnic associations, higher education institutions, as well as school students.

The ceremony also featured a choir performance and a special presentation by the Sabah State Cultural Board.

Present at the ceremony were members of the State and Federal Cabinets, State Assemblymen, Members of Parliament and heads of departments.
