KOTA KINABALU: The public is invited to attend the Agri Commodity & MADANI Agro Sales Programme to be held this Friday, 7 November 2025, at the Golden Hotel Hall compound, Sembulan, from 8.30 a.m. to 4.00 p.m.
The event, organised by the Ministry of Plantation and Commodities (KPK) in collaboration with various government agencies under the MADANI Government, aims to strengthen public understanding of the agri-commodity sector while encouraging participation in economic activities that benefit the local community.
The programme will be officiated by the Deputy Minister of Plantation and Commodities, Datuk Chan Foong Hin, and will feature a range of activities focused on promoting the commodity and local agro-based industries.
One of the main highlights is the Used Cooking Oil (UCO) Collection Awareness Briefing, designed to educate the public on the importance of sustainable waste oil management for environmental protection and potential income generation.
A Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Briefing will also be held to outline the direction, certification structure, and career prospects in technical and skilled fields, particularly within the plantation and commodity sectors.
Job seekers will have the opportunity to explore career openings in the oil palm plantation industry, which will be showcased as a stable, well-paying, and high-impact career option contributing to national development.
Adding to the event’s appeal, the MADANI Agro Sales, organised in collaboration with the Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (FAMA), will offer a wide variety of fresh produce and local goods at affordable prices. For as little as RM10, visitors can purchase assorted fresh vegetables, meat, and fruits.
As a special incentive, free cooking oil will be distributed to attendees, subject to limited quantities.
The event is supported by the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB), Malaysian Cocoa Board (LKM), Malaysian Pepper Board (MPB), Institute of Plantation and Commodities Malaysia (IMPAC), Agrobank, Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH), Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), and Arus Oil as strategic partners.
The Agri Commodity & MADANI Agro Sales Programme underscores the government’s commitment to strengthening the agri-commodity sector, fostering environmental sustainability, and expanding career and entrepreneurship opportunities for the people of Sabah, in line with the aspirations of the MADANI Government.
