Pulau Berhala Sports Day 2025: 300 Participants

PULAU BERHALA: The Pulau Berhala Sports Day 2025, which was held in a lively atmosphere, drew the participation of more than 300 people from all walks of life.

The programme was organised by the Service Centre of Tanjong Papat Assemblyman organised

The event also featured the launch of the newly built Pulau Berhala Multi-Purpose Roof, completed in August 2025. The facility is expected to serve as a more comfortable and conducive community hub for various social events in the future.

The event was officiated by the Organising Chairman, Datuk Poon Ming Fung @ Frankie, Assemblyman for Tanjong Papat and Chairman of Sabah Development Berhad, together with Co-Chairperson Liau Fui Fui, who is Secretary to the Assemblyman and Chairperson of Jetama Water Sdn Bhd.

In his speech Frankie expressed his gratitude to the residents of Pulau Berhala and participants for enlivening the sports day, describing it as a platform to foster community unity. He also expressed hope that the new multi-purpose roof would be fully utilised for the well-being of the local community.

Liau highlighted that activities such as this not only encourage a healthy lifestyle but also strengthen the spirit of togetherness between mainland and island communities.

A variety of fun activities were held, including tug-of-war, sarong race, sack race, flour blowing contest and many more, with both children and adults taking part. The cheerful atmosphere and laughter throughout the day made the Pulau Berhala Sports Day 2025 a memorable occasion for the entire community.
