KUALA LUMPUR: Radium Development Berhad (“Radium”), a homegrown company renowned for developing affordable housing across the Klang Valley, today celebrated a significant milestone in its growth journey with the official launch of Radium Hospital @ Ayer Keroh (currently known as A Famosa Specialist Hospital).
This marks the company’s first healthcare facility under the newly formed Radium Healthcare Sdn Bhd.
Strategically situated adjacent to the Melaka International Trade Centre (MITC), the administrative centre of the state government, and less than 4 km from the Ayer Keroh Interchange on the PLUS Highway, with Melaka city centre approximately 12 km away, Radium Hospital @ Ayer Keroh is a tertiary-level medical facility designed to meet the increasing healthcare demands of communities in secondary towns.
The hospital aims to serve a diverse patient demographic, including middle to high-income individuals, insurance patients, corporate panels, and medical tourists, with a strong emphasis on accessible, holistic, and high-quality care.
During the official launch event at Hilton Kuala Lumpur today, Datuk Gary Gan, Group Managing Director of Radium Development Berhad, stated, “As a brand founded on the principle of ‘Building Good’, our venture into healthcare is a natural extension of our mission to serve Malaysians from all walks of life. Just as we have provided quality housing solutions in the property sector, we are now committed to delivering the same level of reliability, compassion, and excellence in healthcare.”
Scheduled to commence operations in the first half of 2028, the hospital will serve as the centrepiece of Radium Centricity, a proposed 7.11-acre integrated development centred on health, wellness, and wellbeing.
The development will eventually include residential and commercial components, supporting the hospital with ancillary healthcare services and lifestyle amenities.
Radium Hospital @ Ayer Keroh will feature Centres of Excellence specialising in traumatology, cardiology, infertility, and neonatology, addressing Melaka’s most urgent and evolving health needs, from highway trauma to chronic cardiac conditions and fertility issues.
The hospital’s care model is grounded in a patient-first philosophy, utilising cutting-edge technology and adhering to the highest clinical standards.
Dr Arun Kumar, Chief Executive Officer of Radium Healthcare, commented, “Our vision is to create a healthcare system that is inclusive, ethical, and adaptable. Radium Hospital @ Ayer Keroh represents the first step towards establishing a network of community-focused hospitals that uphold the highest clinical standards while remaining affordable for the public.”
Radium Healthcare’s business model is designed for long-term sustainability, combining internal funding with strategic borrowings, while adopting asset-light structures and cost-efficiency measures.
The group is also investing in continuous technological upgrades, rigorous safety protocols, and pursuing MSQH accreditation to ensure the highest standards of patient care. Strategic partnerships with local corporations and NGOs are integral to Radium Healthcare’s approach.
The company has established a collaboration with M Life Healthcare Sdn Bhd, led by Dr Arun Kumar, who will oversee the group’s healthcare operations.
With extensive industry experience, we are confident that under Dr Arun Kumar’s leadership, Radium Healthcare will emerge as a leading private hospital group in Malaysia.
With additional healthcare projects in development, Radium is positioning itself as a transformative force within Malaysia’s healthcare landscape, aligned with national efforts to improve access to healthcare and enhance quality of life.
