KOTA KINABALU: The Community Development Leaders Unit (UPPM), Office of the Chief Minister (JKM) Headquarters, held an engagement session with Sabah Electricity and district UPPM representatives from the Sepanggar Parliamentary constituency, Kota Kinabalu, Penampang and Papar at the UPPM Meeting Room, Level 5, Block A, Menara Kinabalu, today.
The session was attended by UPPM Director Datuk Haji Awang Kadin Tang and Sabah Electricity Chief Executive Officer Datuk Ir. Ts. Haji Mohd Yaakob Haji Jaafar, together with senior officers from Sabah Electricity, UPPM Headquarters and community development leaders (PPM) and community development officers (CDO) from the Sepanggar, Kota Kinabalu, Penampang and Papar constituencies.
The programme was organised to strengthen coordination and alignment between Sabah Electricity and UPPM Sabah, particularly to ensure that development programmes and public service delivery to the people are implemented more effectively.

The event also served as a platform to exchange views, share current information and discuss grassroots issues and challenges so that follow-up actions can be taken in a more organised and comprehensive manner.
In addition, Sabah Electricity provided clarification on the widely shared concerns about rising bills, explained issues related to security deposits and discussed factors contributing to higher electricity charges.
Sabah Electricity has also improved the mySE+ application, reflecting the company’s ongoing efforts to provide a more responsive and user‑friendly digital platform that meets users’ needs.

During the session, Awang Kadin emphasised the importance of close cooperation and the commitment of all officers and community development leaders (PPM) in ensuring that state government policies and initiatives are effectively translated to the public.
The question-and-answer session at the end of the programme allowed community leaders to raise current issues frequently highlighted by local residents.
He also urged all parties to continue strengthening team spirit and improving the efficiency of service delivery for the wellbeing of communities in their respective areas.
