Sheraton Kota Kinabalu Celebrates Hari Raya with First Official Cake Presentation to Sabah's Head of State

KOTA KINABALU: Sheraton Kota Kinabalu marked its inaugural official Hari Raya cake presentation to the Head of State (TYT) Tun Datuk Seri Panglima (Dr) Musa Aman and his consort Toh Puan Datin Seri Panglima Datuk Hajah Faridah Haji Tussin at Istana Seri Kinabalu today, in celebration of the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri festivities.


Executive Chef Ryan Poon presented the TYT with a four-tiered display of Pulut Kuning and Beef Rendang, meticulously crafted by a team of ten chefs using 35kg of glutinous rice, 20kg of Australian beef, and locally sourced herbs, complemented by the artistry of a specialist vegetable carver.


“Our debut presentation at the Istana is a proud moment for the Sheraton KK team,” said Nauman Hasan, General Manager of Sheraton Kota Kinabalu. “By showcasing Pulut Kuning, we aim to honour Sabah’s rich cultural heritage while extending our warmest wishes to the Head of State and the wider community.”

Following the ceremony, Tun Musa traditionally directs these festive cakes to be distributed to various welfare organisations and orphanages, ensuring the spirit of giving is shared across the city.
