KENINGAU : Datin Doris Joprit, wife of the Bingkor Assemblyman and Assistant Minister of Public Works, Datuk Robert Tawik @ Nordin, recently visited an elderly single mother in Kampung Matanoi, Apin-Apin, as part of the Ziarah Kasih outreach programme.
The recipient of the visit, Andoi Intang, expressed her sincere appreciation for the visit and the essential items provided. She stated that it was a great honour to be acknowledged and supported in such a meaningful way.
Speaking during the visit, Datin Doris emphasised that the Ziarah Kasih programme, organised by the Women of GRS N.40 Bingkor, is aimed at ensuring that no one in the community is overlooked or left behind.
“I did not come merely to offer assistance,” she said. “I came with the intention to listen, to understand, and to show that we care.”
Photographs from the visit captured a heartfelt exchange between Datin Doris and Andoi Intang, symbolising a moment of empathy and connection between leadership and the community.
The Ziarah Kasih initiative reflects the ongoing commitment of GRS Bingkor to fostering social responsibility through direct community engagement. The programme seeks to strengthen the relationship between elected representatives and the people they serve, particularly those in need.
This outreach aligns with the broader vision of Datuk Robert Tawik, encapsulated in the slogan “Bingkor Membangun Bersama Rakyat” ("Bingkor Rising with the People"), which places human welfare at the centre of development efforts.
“Genuine development occurs when leaders are present in the lives of the people—not merely through statements, but through meaningful action and personal connection,” Datuk Robert said in a brief statement.
The visit to Kampung Matanoi serves as a reminder that leadership grounded in compassion and inclusion has the power to uplift lives and restore hope within the community.
