Held in conjunction with Malaysia’s ASEAN Chairmanship, SME Venture@ASEAN 2025 showcased the strength, innovation, and cross-border potential of SMEs across the region under the theme ‘Bringing ASEAN Closer to You’. The event underscored the pivotal role of SMEs as the backbone of ASEAN’s economic growth.

Over 370 exhibitors from key and emerging sectors displayed their latest products and services, including 62 international exhibitors from ASEAN nations as well as Germany, India, Japan, Oman, and Taiwan (Republic of China).

The Pitch2Go funding session gave 19 SMEs the platform to present their business ideas to private equity firms, venture capitalists, and peer-to-peer financing platforms, collectively securing RM70 million in funding and investment commitments.

The Closing Ceremony was officiated by Dato’ Sri Khairul Dzaimee Daud, Secretary General of the Ministry of Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development (MEDC), who commended the event’s outcomes.

“Building on the success of this event, both in terms of financial results and strategic partnerships, KUSKOP and SME Corp. Malaysia remain committed to enhancing SME capacity to compete internationally,” he said.

“Under the 13th Malaysia Plan, we are focused on scaling up SMEs to drive sustainable growth, strengthen competitiveness, and secure long-term market access for Malaysian businesses globally.”

SME Corp. Malaysia Chief Executive Officer and Organising Chairman Mr. Rizal Dato’ Nainy highlighted that SME Venture@ASEAN 2025 achieved its mission of connecting entrepreneurs, fostering innovation, and advancing regional collaboration.

“The strong participation and trade results demonstrate Malaysia’s readiness to lead ASEAN’s efforts in boosting SME development and intra-regional trade,” he said.

Two major forums were held alongside the exhibition — the ESG Forum, jointly organised with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA), and the ASEAN SME Forum, co-organised with the Small and Medium Enterprises Association of Malaysia (SAMENTA). Nearly 500 participants attended the sessions on 16 and 17 October.

At the SME Venture@ASEAN 2025 Awards, Ventura IOT Sdn. Bhd. was honoured with the Outstanding SME Award, CG Global Profastex Manufacturing Sdn. Bhd. won the Outstanding Women SME Award, and Rodrell Sdn. Bhd. received the Outstanding Youth SME Award — all recognising exemplary performance and export excellence.

The celebration concluded with a grand prize lucky draw, where one visitor took home a Perodua Aruz 1.5 AV.

SME Venture@ASEAN 2025 was supported by strategic partners including MATRADE, Tourism Malaysia, Media Prima Omnia, Malaysia Airlines, Firefly, Pos Malaysia, Bubbles O2, and TikTok Shop, with sponsorship from Perodua and Toshiba Tec.

Also present at the closing ceremony were Mr. Rizal Dato’ Nainy, Chief Executive Officer of SME Corp. Malaysia, and Dato’ Adam Abd. Ghani, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of TEKUN Nasional.
