St Michael Penampang Alumni for 'Class of 2000' welcomes Ewon’s service in Penampang

PENAMPANG: St Michael's Secondary School (SM), Penampang Alumni for 'Class of 2000' welcomes the services of their schoolmate, Datuk Ewon Benedick for Penampang.

In a simple reunion dinner ceremony yesterday, they expressed their support and welcomed Ewon's nomination as the Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate for the Penampang parliamentary seat in the upcoming 15th general election (GE15).

Ewon's classmate, Osmund Justine who is a teacher said that Ewon was actively involved in the Welfare Club and Peer Mentoring Club during his school years in SM St Michael.

"Together with him, we established the Blues Corner SM St Michael football team and won the beach football competition organised by the Sabah Sports Board in Tanjung Aru in 2000.

"When we climbed Mount Kinabalu after the SPM exam, we stopped for the night at Ewon's house in Kg Kiau. Today, we want to welcome his service to Penampang and we wish him victory in this election. I am sure he can give the best in his service, " said Osmund who had also organised the dinner.

Meanwhile, Ewon also expressed his appreciation for his fellow SM St Michael's alumni's eagerness to help and support him to serve in Penampang.

"During the previous Government, I visited my old school, SM St Michael and presented a small donation at the time. I hope to continue to have the opportunity to give back to the school that shaped me into who I am today.
