SHAH ALAM: Zhejiang Province has stepped up efforts to boost tourism links with Malaysia by hosting the “Inspired by Mountains and Seas, Travel in Zhejiang” Tourism Promotion and Industry Briefing, drawing nearly 100 key players from both countries’ travel industries.

The event brought together more than 60 representatives from travel agencies and airlines, alongside senior industry leaders including Chua Yee Ling, Chief Executive Officer of Tourism Selangor, and Law Wai Hong, President of the Malaysia Chinese Tourism Association.

Speakers from both sides highlighted the geographic closeness and shared cultural heritage of Zhejiang and Malaysia, stressing the potential for deeper tourism cooperation.

They voiced confidence that the initiative would act as a bridge for cultural exchange and sustainable industry partnerships.

In a key highlight, Kong Lingtao, General Manager of the Inbound Department at Zhejiang Everbright Xingchen International Travel Service Co., Ltd., unveiled a series of customised travel packages designed specifically for Malaysian visitors.

These showcase Zhejiang’s spectacular landscapes and profound cultural traditions.

The event also launched the Zhejiang Familiarisation Tour, a joint initiative by three leading Malaysian travel agencies.

The delegation will embark on a site visit to experience first-hand the poetic charm of Zhejiang.

With an eye on expanding its reach in Southeast Asia, Zhejiang reaffirmed its commitment to working with international partners, inviting them to participate in exchanges, familiarisation trips, and joint tourism ventures to seize shared opportunities for growth.
