KOTA KINABALU: The success of women entrepreneurs under the Sahabat Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia (AIM) programme in Sabah continues to be a source of inspiration to other entrepreneurs after recording a 0 per cent Portfolio at Risk (PAR), clearly demonstrating strong capability and high discipline in economic and entrepreneurial management.

Deputy Chief Minister III and Sabah Minister of Industrial Development, Entrepreneurship and Transport, Datuk Ewon Benedick, said the achievement reflects the extraordinary commitment of women entrepreneurs in ensuring that loan repayments are made in full without arrears.

“I wish to convey my respect and pride to the Sahabat AIM entrepreneurs of Sabah for achieving a 0% Portfolio at Risk (PAR), which means that all entrepreneurs have successfully repaid their loans.

“This demonstrates the discipline and economic management spirit among women through Sahabat AIM,” he said when officiating at the Pinknuari Gala Night & Legacy organised by the Kota Kinabalu Sahabat Ikhtiar Entrepreneurs Club (KUSIKK) at the SICC here yesterday.

Ewon said the success not only proves the effectiveness of the entrepreneurship development programme, but also serves as an example and inspiration for more women to venture into business in a sustainable manner.

He also shared several success stories of women entrepreneurs he had previously visited as a source of motivation for AIM entrepreneurs to continue striving and remain competitive.

“Under the Sabah Ministry of Industrial Development, Entrepreneurship and Transport (MINDET), various entrepreneurship development initiatives have been provided to strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem in the state,” he said.

At the event, several entrepreneurship awards were presented to outstanding entrepreneurs.

“I hope the success of Sahabat AIM, in their respective enterprises, will continue to inspire other entrepreneurs throughout Sabah,” he said.

Ewon also invited the winners of the individual categories as well as block leaders for the block categories to attend a special meeting next week.

“This initiative aims to allow me to personally hear their issues, challenges and suggestions, while also delivering additional incentives as encouragement to entrepreneurs who demonstrate excellent performance,” he said.
