PUTATAN: The Tanjung Keramat Eid Light Competition has concluded with two lucky category winners taking home RM1,500 in cash along with hampers.

Featuring two categories, 'susul' lanterns and decorative lights, the competition was participated in by 45 individuals from seven local villages around Tanjung Keramat.

Putatan Member of Parliament, Datuk Ir Shahelmey Yahya, expressed his satisfaction with the organisation of the event, noting that it achieved its objectives despite being held for the first time.

"We received the idea to organise this event from the management of the DUN Office, UPPM Tanjung Keramat, and subsequently with the cooperation of the Putatan Parliamentary Office.

"Initially, we aimed for about 30 participants, but it received a fantastic response with 45 entries."

"Inshallah, this event will be continued in the future, and improvements will be made over time," he said.

He made these remarks after the main prize presentation ceremony at Kampung Pituru, Taman Pantai Lok Kawi, here, on Wednesday.

For the record, the winner of the 'susul' category was Mazlan Mayut from Kg Pituru, followed by runner-up Mohd Khairi Abd Latip from Kg Pasir Putih, with Muhammad Annas Mahadzir from Kg Lembising taking third place.
