KOTA KINABALU: The V by Jesselton is poised to become a landmark development that will elevate Kota Kinabalu’s standing as a vibrant, world-class waterfront city.
Deputy Chief Minister II and Minister of Local Government and Housing, Datuk Seri Dr Joachim Gunsalam, congratulated Jesselton International and Yayasan Sabah for their strategic partnership in realising the project, describing it as “a model of public-private collaboration that unites resources, expertise, and a shared vision for Sabah’s progress.”
“This project is more than just another property development — it represents a forward-looking vision for Kota Kinabalu: an iconic mixed-use destination that seamlessly integrates commercial, retail, and lifestyle spaces under one cohesive concept,” he said at the groundbreaking ceremony here today.

Dr Joachim said the development will not only enhance the city’s urban landscape but also create employment opportunities and attract new investments, directly supporting the State Government’s goal of building a progressive and globally competitive Sabah under the Hala Tuju Sabah Maju Jaya vision.
“Projects like this play a vital role in positioning Kota Kinabalu as an internationally recognised waterfront city. They stimulate economic growth and generate opportunities that benefit both residents and visitors alike,” he added.
The Deputy Chief Minister also commended Jesselton International’s commitment to Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) principles, emphasising that sustainability must now lie at the heart of modern urban development.
“In today’s world, progress must go beyond bricks and mortar. It must embody responsibility, inclusivity, and sustainability. I am pleased that The V by Jesselton embraces these values through its design philosophy and green integration,” he said.
Dr Joachim reaffirmed his Ministry’s full support for responsible and innovative developments that align with the state’s growth agenda, stressing that collaboration between government and reputable developers is essential to ensuring progress that benefits all levels of society.
