THREE HOUSING AREAS IN LAHAD DATU UNDER EMCO STARTING TOMORROW

KOTA KINABALU: Three localities in Lahad Datu with a cumulative total of 45 Covid-19 cases as of today will be placed under 14 days of enhanced movement control (EMCO) starting tomorrow.

Local Government and Housing Datuk Masidi Manjun said the localities involved are Taman Aman 3, Taman Aman Jaya and Taman Palm Height.

According to Health Ministry (KKM) report, there is still transmission occurs among the residents which mostly involve household in the same house.

"After a joint risk assessment with various agencies from the MCO Technical Committee and on the advice of the health ministry, the state government has agreed to implement EMCO in these localities from April 22 until May 5.

"The implementation of EMCO in the localities is to ensure that the movement of the residents can be controlled in order to prevent the spread of Covid-19 outside of the community."
