KOTA KINABALU: Three districts in Sabah namely Sandakan, Penampang and Lahad Datu will be placed under a 14-day enhanced movement control order (EMCO) starting (21 June) until 4 July.

Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Masidi Manjun said in Sandakan the locality involved is Kampung Nelayan Batu 10 which has a cumulative total of 19 Covid-19 cases.

“In Penampang, the locality that will be placed under the EMCO is Taman Dingot, Phase 1 and 2 with eight cases detected,” he said in a statement today.

Meanwhile, in Lahad Datu the locality that will be placed under EMCO is Kampung Rancangan Silabukan Peringkat 4 with eight positive cases recorded.

Masidi added the decision to impose EMCO on these localities was made so that targeted screening can be conducted towards the public in an effort to curb the spread of the virus to other communities.
