THREE MILLION EXPECTED TO RECEIVE COVID JAB IN SABAH

KOTA KINABALU: A total of three million residents in Sabah are expected to receive the Covid-19 vaccination by Feb 2022.
Minister of Local Government and Housing Datuk Masidi Manjun said, the first phase out of three of the vaccination programme is expected to begin on Feb 26 involving frontliners.
"The second phase will involve population with comorbidities such as the elderly and those with chronic diseases, while the third phase will cover other citizens aged 18 and above,
"The first phase is expected to start from Feb 26 until April, while the second and third phases are expected to begin on April and will continue until Feb 2022," he said during a media conference here, today.
The minister stated that there as five approaches for the public to register for the Covid-19 vaccines as announced by Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation Khairy Jamaluddin.
The public can either register through the MySejahtera application, the Covid19-JKJAV Vaccine Supply Access Assurance Special Committee or a hotline which will be set up later. Manual registration can also be done at any public and private clinics and hospitals, and through the cooperation of the State Government to register vaccine recipients, including senior citizens.
"The National Security Council has a big role to play in getting the list of vaccine recipients in phases two and three through the assistance of the Village Head and the Village Community Management Council," Masidi explained.
