SHAH ALAM: Top Glove Corporation Bhd (“Top Glove”) today announced that it has obtained independent verification of the Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) for its nitrile powder‑free 3.5 g Gloves , the first glove manufacturer in Malaysia to do so.

The milestone comes amid growing global demand for greater transparency in carbon emissions.

The PCF verification was carried out by SGS, a leading global testing, inspection and certification company, under the ISO 14064‑3:2019 verification process. SGS confirmed that the PCF was prepared in accordance with ISO 14067:2018 and based on the life‑cycle assessment principles of ISO 14040 and ISO 14044.

The verified PCF for Top Glove’s nitrile powder‑free 3.5 g gloves is 26.274 kg CO2e per 1,000 gloves, based on a cradle‑to‑gate assessment.

Lim Jin Feng, Joint Managing Director of Top Glove, said, “Customers today look beyond product quality and cost; they also want to understand the environmental impact of what they buy. By providing independently verified carbon‑footprint data, we give our customers clear, reliable information to support more responsible choices while reinforcing our commitment to sustainable manufacturing.”

This achievement builds on Top Glove’s earlier life‑cycle assessment work, which assesses the broader environmental impacts of its products.

The verified PCF strengthens transparency by providing a single, audited figure for carbon emissions, giving customers greater confidence for decision‑making and sustainability reporting.

Verified carbon‑footprint data is increasingly important as customers, regulators and stakeholders place greater emphasis on environmental performance, including tracking indirect greenhouse‑gas emissions across the value chain (Scope 3).

This initiative aligns with Top Glove’s ongoing commitment to advancing sustainable manufacturing practices and environmental accountability as the Group expands its range of environmentally responsible products.
