KENINGAU: The Aidilfitri Open House hosted by Bingkor State Assemblyman, Dato’ Sr. Mohd Ishak Datuk Ayub, was held in a lively and festive atmosphere, attended by key state and federal leaders as well as thousands of people from diverse communities who began arriving from midday.

Among the distinguished guests were the Member of Parliament for Keningau, Jeffrey G. Kitingan; Assistant Minister of Finance and Tanjong Kapor State Assemblyman, Ben Chong; and Liawan State Assemblyman, Nik Mohd Nadzri Nik Zawawi.

Dr Jeffrey, who is also the Tambunan State Assemblyman, arrived with his wife, Datin Seri Cecilia E. Kitingan, and was warmly received by the host and guests in attendance.

The event, which began as early as 12noon, was enlivened by Aidilfitri-themed cultural performances, alongside a wide array of traditional dishes served to the public as a symbol of openness and unity.

The presence of leaders from various backgrounds together with the local community reflected the strong spirit of goodwill and harmony that continues to thrive in the district, in line with the values of Aidilfitri that emphasise forgiveness, togetherness and compassion.
