MELALAP: Junik Bajit, the United Progressive Kinabalu Organisation (UPKO) Melalap division head took the time to reach out to the local community in a heartfelt gesture of compassion and support.

Accompanied by his wife, Byana Marcus Ontobon, and several prominent leaders from UPKO, Junik led a delegation to Kg. Sawang, Melalap, where they visited a family mourning the loss of a cherished loved one.

The delegation included notable figures such as UPKO Youth member Nasirin Nasipin, CLC Secretary Jenson Tamio, and UPKO Election Director Felix Pirus Masri, all of whom understood the importance of standing with their fellow community members during times of grief. This visit not only reaffirmed the values of compassion and empathy within the party but also served to strengthen the bond between the leaders and the constituents they represent.

Members of the delegation offered their condolences and shared in the family's sorrow, listening to memories and stories about the deceased. Their presence was a powerful reminder that no one should endure such pain alone.

After paying their respects in Kg. Sawang, the delegation continued on their journey to Kg. Bunut in Tenom. This was yet another important visit; another family in the community had recently lost a beloved member, and the UPKO leaders wanted to ensure they received the same support and solidarity. The expressions of mourning were palpable as the delegation arrived; community members gathered to honour the memory of the lost individual, and the leaders’ presence reinforced a sense of togetherness in the face of adversity.

Junik’s remarks during the visit were deeply poignant. "May the soul of the deceased be showered with blessings and rest in peace alongside Him," he expressed sincerely to the grieving families. His words resonated with the essence of their visit—acknowledging the pain of loss.
