Vision School Archers Hit the Mark with 27 Medals at MSS Sabah Championships

LAHAD DATU: Vision School’s archery team returned triumphantly from the MSS Sabah Archery Championships, held from 28 July to 1 August in Lahad Datu, securing an impressive total of 27 medals for the Sandakan contingent.
Their remarkable achievement is a testament to their precision, perseverance, and passion, qualities that have clearly set them apart on the archery field.
The team’s medal haul included 6 gold, 10 silver, and 11 bronze medals, earned across three highly competitive categories: Recurve, Compound, and Barebow. This outstanding result not only showcases the team’s technical versatility but also reflects the depth of talent across various age groups.
Among the notable contributors were Dexter Tsang (Under-18 Boys Recurve), Caden Yeo and Nicholas Yeo (Under-15 Boys Recurve), Caleigh Chong (Under-12 Girls Recurve), Zachariah Lai (Under-12 Boys Recurve), Joshua Chong (Open Men Compound), Crystal Yong (Open Women Compound), and Bryan Hiew (Open Men Barebow).
Special recognition goes to Caleigh Chong, who has earned a coveted spot to represent Sabah at the MSSM National Championships, alongside fellow Sandakan archer Eunice Hing. Caleigh’s qualification at just 12 years of age highlights her exceptional skill and determination—a promising sign of great things to come in her archery journey.
The stellar performance by Vision School’s archers is not only a sporting triumph but also a reflection of the school’s unwavering commitment to instilling discipline, sportsmanship, and resilience in its students. As these young athletes continue to strive for excellence, they are fast becoming the pride of Sandakan and an inspiration to the wider community.
