Water Supply Disruption in Sandakan

SANDAKAN: Sabah Water Department has announced a scheduled disruption to water supply in Sandakan, set to take place on Monday, 13 April 2026. The outage will begin at 8:00 AM and continue until the maintenance works are completed.


The disruption is necessary to carry out essential maintenance at the Segaliud Water Treatment Plant, involving the replacement of several valves, including two 600mm sluice valves, two 600mm check valves for the Surge Vessel system, six 600mm butterfly valves, three 800mm sluice valves, and three 600mm check valves for the treated water pump station.


The affected facility is the Segaliud Water Treatment Plant, and residents in the surrounding areas should expect water supply interruptions. The Water Department has advised that restoration will be carried out gradually, and customers in the affected areas should prepare for the disruptions.


The affected regions cover a wide area in Sandakan, including Batu 17 to Batu 1, various housing areas such as PPR Gum-Gum and Muhibbah, Jalan Cina, Vila Vista Garden, Jalan Sungai Batang, the Education Hub, Sentosa Village, Sebait Village, Padas Village, and the Sg. Manila Development Area.


Additional impacted locations include Pkt 1 to Pkt 4, Sg. Daling, Lalason, Batu 7 and Batu 8, Sibuga Jaya Town, Fortune Garden, Tai Fai Yen Garden, Permata Garden, Sri Rimba Garden, and several other residential and commercial zones.


Residents are urged to use water sparingly during this period to mitigate inconvenience. The Sabah Water Department has provided a hotline for inquiries at 017-2504498 or 012-3052346.


The department apologises for any inconvenience caused and appreciates the public’s understanding as the necessary maintenance works are carried out.
