22 localities to be placed under EMCO starting Aug 1 - Masidi

KOTA KINABALU: A total of 22 localities in Sabah involving eight districts will be placed under 14-day enhanced movement control order (EMCO) starting this Sunday, said Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Masidi Manjun.


There are six localities involved in Tawau, namely Bandar Sabindo, Kg Rancangan Sg Tongkang, Taman Kukusan, Batu 2 Lorong Habib Abdul Rahman Jalan Apas, PPR Sri Semarak, and Taman Berjaya.


In Keningau, localities that will be placed under lockdown are Kg Bariawa Laut, Kg Baitah, Kg Panagatan Ulu, Kg Kota Ayangan, and Rumah Kongsi Jutaya Lingkudau.


Kg Seri Aman, Taman Orkid and Kg Damaran Banggi in Kudat, as well as Kg Lupak Meluas Darat, Kg Sundang Laut and Flat Taman Sejati in Sandakan will join the EMCO bandwagon.


The other localities are Taman Sempelang Sembulan and Kg Sembulan Tengah & Lama in Kota Kinabalu, as well as Kg Tempasuk 1 in Kota Belud, Kg Tengah Padang in Putatan, and Kg Babagon in Penampang.


Meanwhile, the EMCO Kg Siansai Dundau in Kota Belud that was scheduled to end tomorrow will be extended for another 14 days following a high-risk Covid-19 assessment. The EMCO is expected to end on Aug 14.
