Bank Rakyat celebrates 69 years of service

KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Ewon Benedick, Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperative (MEDC) attended the 69th Anniversary Dinner and Celebration of Bank Rakyat at the Headquarters Tower, in Kuala Lumpur, last night.

During his speech , Ewon called on Bank Rakyat employees to continue working together to create a paradigm shift in empowering entrepreneurship through innovation and creativity.

He emphasized that this is important not only for generating profits but also for creating job opportunities for those in need.

"This event also serves as the best platform to appreciate and recognize the achievements of Bank Rakyat employees for their hard work every year.

"Indeed, the banking services and facilities, training programs, and financial support provided by Bank Rakyat to entrepreneurs and cooperatives have made a significant contribution to our country's economic growth," he said.

Ewon stated that adaptation driven by innovation in banking services is crucial in line with the changing times and the technological advancements of the 4.0 and 5.0 Industrial Revolutions.

"This is to ensure that the quality of banking services is constantly improved to meet the ever-changing needs of customers," he said.

Also present were the Deputy Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives, Saraswathy Kandasami, the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (KUSKOP), Dato' Sri Suriani Dato' Ahmad, the Acting Chairman of Bank Rakyat, Datuk Mohd Irwan Mohd Mubarak, and the Chief Executive Officer of Bank Rakyat, Dato' Dr. Mohammad Hanis Osman.
