COVID-19: ANOTHER DAY WITH TRIPLE-DIGIT DAILY CASELOAD IN SABAH

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah continues to record a triple-digit of daily Covid-19 caseload with 131 cases recorded today, bringing the cumulative total to 55,670 cases.
Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Masidi Manjun said, out of the total, 58 cases were close contacts, 45 from existing clusters, 25 cases from symptomatic screening, and three from other categories.
Tawau district recorded the highest number of new cases today with 87 , followed by Lahad Datu (10), Putatan (seven), and Sandakan and Tuaran with five cases each.
Kota Kinabalu has four new cases while Semporna has three, Papar and Penampang each have two, and only one case recorded each in Keningau, Kinabatangan, Beaufort, Kunak, Nabawan and Ranau.
"A total of 12 districts did not record new cases, namely Kalabakan, Sipitang, Pitas, Kota Belud, Tambunan, Kudat, Tenom, Kota Marudu, Beluran, Telupid, Kuala Penyu and Tongod," Masidi said in a press statement, here, today.
He added that a total of 70 patients have recovered and were discharged today, bringing the cumulative total of recoveries to 54,481 people.
There are a total of 688 active cases currently, where 290 of them are treated at hospitals and 398 people at the quarantine centres.
"Forty-one patients are treated in the intensive care unit (ICU) with 13 of them ventilated."
