Covid-19: Sabah daily caseload drops to 751

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah reported a drastic drop in its daily Covid-19 caseload with 751 cases today, bringing the cumulative total of statewide infections to 195,015.


In a statement today, Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Masidi Manjun said the overall cases today show a decrease of 327 from 1,078 cases yesterday.


He also noted that the recovery cases also show a positive development with 1,273 discharges recorded today.


“The number of active cases now stands at 3,362 with 2,069 patients being treated in quarantine centres, 1,247 at hospitals, eight in private facilities and the rest in temporary detention centres.


"To date, there are 150 patients currently receiving treatment in the intensive care unit with 52 of them ventilated," he said.


Masidi disclosed that close contact screenings remained the highest contributor to the daily cases with 366 reported today.


"This was followed by symptomatic screening (232), cluster screening (46), and the rest in other categories," he added.


Masidi who is also the Covid-19 spokesperson for Sabah said that the number of cases in Category One is 254, 454 in Category Two, five in Category Three, seven in Category Four, and four cases in category Five.
