COVID-19: SABAH RECORDS 104 NEW CASES, TWO DEATHS

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah today registered a total of 104 new Covid-19 cases, bringing the cumulative total of statewide infections to 52,990.


Local Government and Housing Datuk Masidi Manjun said two more deaths were also recorded with one each in Tenom and Keningau.



Nabawan recorded the highest number of cases with 21, followed by Sandakan (15), Kota Kinabalu (12), Keningau and Kota Belud (nine), Tawau (eight), Tuaran (seven), Papar (five), Kota Marudu and Penampang (four), Beluran, Putatan and Tambunan (two), as well as Kunak, Kalabakan, Kudat and Kualay Penyu (one).


A total of 10 districts did not record new case, namely Kinabatangan, Lahad Datu, Semporna, Sipitang, Beaufort, Pitas, Tenom, Telupid, Ranau and Tongod.


"Of the 104 new cases, 50 cases involve close contacts, 31 from existing clusters, 10 from symptomatic screening, and 13 from other categories.



"Today, a total of 74 patients have recovered from Covid-19, bringing the total of recoveries in Sabah to 51,436," he said in a press conference today.


Masidi stated that 722 patients are still receiving treatment with 248 in the hospitals, 466 in Quarantine and Low-Risk Quarantine Centres, and eight in temporary detention centres.


He added that a total of 31 of them are receiving treatment in the intensive care unit (ICU) with 14 ventilated.
