COVID-19: SABAH RECORDS 160 NEW CASES, THREE DEATHS

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah recorded 160 new Covid-19 cases today, bringing the cumulative total of statewide infections to 57,324 said Local Government and Housing Datuk Masidi Manjun.


Of the total, 62 were identified from close contacts, 62 from existing clusters, 25 from symptomatic screening, and 11 from other categories.



Unfortunately, three deaths related to the virus were also recorded today, two in Tawau and one in Putatan.


Tawau reported the highest number of new cases with 65, followed by Kota Kinabalu (42), Kinabatangan (16), Laha Datu (15), Sandakan, Tuaran and Penampang (four), Kunak and Papar (three), Putatan (two), Kuala Penyu and Keningau each with one case.


Aside from the green zone districts such as Tambunan, Tenom, Kota Marudu, Telupid and Tongod other districts that did not record any new cases are Semporna, Kota Belud, Kalabakan, Nabawan, Ranau, Kudat, Beluran, Beaufort, Sipitang, and Pitas.


"The number of active cases now stands at 994 with 317 of the patients at the hospitals, including 55 in the intensive care unit with 20 of them ventilated, 662 in the quarantine and low-risk treatment centres, and 15 in the temporary detention centre.


"The cumulative total of recoveries in Sabah is 55,590 to date, including an addition of 159 recoveries reported today," he said.
