COVID-19: SABAH RECORDS 190 NEW CASES, ONE DEATH

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah today recorded a total of 190 new Covid-19 cases, bringing the cumulative number of cases in the state to 49,610.


State Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun, who is also the official spokesperson for Covid-19 in Sabah, said one death was also reported overnight in Sandakan.


“A total of 337 Covid-19 patients in Sabah have recovered, bringing the total number of recoveries in the state to 46,238 people.


“A total of 1,928 patients are receiving treatment, with 656 in hospitals, 1,263 in Quarantine and Low-Risk Treatment Centres, and nine in temporary detention centres/prisons.


“There are 91 patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) with 24 intubated currently,“ he said in a statement here, today.


Kota Kinabalu recorded the highest number of new cases with 33, followed by Papar (23), Beluran (19), Keningau (18), Sandakan (15), Tawau (15), Lahad Datu (13), Sipitang (12), and Tuaran (11).


Meanwhile, other districts that recorded single-digit new cases include Putatan with eight cases, Penampang (eight), Kota Marudu (four), Kudat (three), Kuank (two), Kota Belud (two), Kinabatangan (one), Telupid (one), Semporna (one), and Pitas (one).


Eight districts did not record any new case today, namely Ranau, Kalabakan, Beaufort, Tenom, Kuala Penyu, Nabawan, Tongod and Tambunan.
