COVID-19: SABAH RECORDS 201 NEW CASES, ONE DEATH

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah today registered a total of 201 new Covid-19 cases, bringing the cumulative total of statewide infections to 67,378.
However, Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Masidi Manjun said one death was also recorded today in Tawau.
"Of the total cases, 109 cases were detected through close contact screening, while 35 were detected through cluster screening, 30 from targeted screening, 17 through symptomatic screening and 10 from other categories," he said in a statement today.
Kudat recorded the highest number of cases with 38 cases followed by Sandakan (26), Kota Kinabalu (23), Kunak (22), Keningau (15), Lahad Datu and Penampang (13), Tuaran (10), Tongod (eight), Papar (six), Putatan and Kota Belud (five), Tawau (four), Nabawan and Semporna (three), Kinabatangan (two), Telupid, Tambunan and Kalabakan (one).
Meanwhile, districts that did not record any new cases today are Beaufort, Sipitang, Kuala Penyu, Ranau, Pitas, Tenom, and Beluran.
The number of active cases now stands at 1,718 with 502 treated at hospitals and 1,214 in quarantine centres.
"The number of patients treated in the intensive care unit (ICU) is 74 with 28 requiring ventilator support," he stated.
As for recoveries, a total of 378 discharges were reported today, bringing the cumulative total of recoveries in Sabah to 64,732.
