COVID-19: SABAH RECORDS 61 CASES, ONE CLUSTER TODAY

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah today registered a total of 61 new Covid-19 cases, bringing the cumulative total of statewide infections to 53,736.
Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Masidi Manjun said, of the total, 41 cases were close contacts while five showed symptoms of infections, nine detected in new and existing clusters, and the rest are from other categories.
Kota Kinabalu recorded the highest number of new cases with 11, followed by Keningau (10), Tawau (eight), Kudat (six), Kalabakan and Sandakan each with five, Kota Marudu, Penampang and Nabawan each with two, and Tuaran, Putatan, Kinabatangan, Tenom and Lahad Datu each with one case.
Meanwhile. no new case was registered in Papar, Beluran, Tambunan, Telupid, Kunak, Ranau, Pitas, Kuala Penyu, Semporna, Sipitang, Beaufort and Tongod.
"A total of 78 patients have recovered and were discharged, bringing the tally of statewide recoveries to 51,546.
"There are 547 active cases currently receiving treatment with 189 in the hospitals and 358 in Quarantine and Low-Risk Treatment Centres," said Masidi.
"A total of 19 patients are receiving treatment in the intensive care unit (ICU) with six of them ventilated," he added.
Meanwhile. Sabah registered a new Covid-19 cluster today involving Nabawan district.
The new cluster - Jambatan 1 Bombalai cluster - has a cumulative total of 15 positive cases, including four new cases recorded today.
