KOTA KINABALU: A 38-year-old man who works as a technician of a concession parking company was identified as an index case of a new Covd-19 cluster in Kota Kinabalu.

Sabah's official Covid-19 spokesperson Datuk Masidi Manjun said the new cluster is known as Jalan Coastal Sembulan cluster.

He said upon investigation the index case was having symptoms since May 25 before testing positive on May 27 at Luyang Clinic.

“Following the case, a total of six other close contacts have tested positive, bringing the cumulative total of cases in the cluster to seven, including one in Papar.

“Early investigation found out that the infection probably has spread throughout the index case's workplace.

"Further investigation on close contact screening is still being actively conducted," he said in statement today.
