EMCO IN KAMPUNG SRI MENANTI, KUNAK STARTING JULY 8

KOTA KINABALU: Kampung Sri Menanti in Kunak will be placed under a 14-day enhanced movement control order (EMCO) starting July 8 and ends on July 21.

In a statement today, Minister of Local Government and Housing Datuk Masidi Manjun said the locality recorded a cumulative total of 15 positive Covid-19 cases.

“Based on the investigation, the Ministry of Health (MOH) reported that there has been a drastic increase of cases in the locality. Out of 36 individuals screened, 15 came back positive,” he added.

Masidi added the decision to impose EMCO on these localities was made so that targeted screening can be conducted towards the public in an effort to curb the spread of the virus to other communities.
