EMCO IN KAMPUNG TANAH MERAH, KOTA MARUDU STARTING FEB 23
22 Feb 2021 By Ilona Andrew KOTA KINABALU: Kampung Tanah Merah, Kota Marudu will be placed under Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) beginning Feb 23 to Mar 8. Local Government and Housing Datuk Masidi Manjun said this is followed by an abrupt surge of Covid-19 cases in the locality. He said, a total of 57 individuals have tested positive for the virus out of 226 individuals who have undergone Covid-19 screening test.
"The implementation of EMCO is to allow the Ministry of Health to conduct targeted screening on a total of 545 residents of the village while curbing the spread of Covid-19 at the same time," he said in a press conference today. Today, Sabah reported a total of 110 new positive cases, including one new case recorded in Kota Marudu.
