Ewon receives courtesy visit from the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Jordan

KUALA LUMPUR: Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (MEDC) Datuk Ewon Benedick received a courtesy visit from the Ambassador of Jordan to Malaysia, His Excellency Dr. Ismael Maddallah Suliman Maaytah, at his office yesterday.


Ewon said that among the topics discussed were the potential for cooperation between ministries and cooperatives in Jordan.


"We discussed cooperation between the Jordan Cooperative Corporation and the Malaysian Cooperative Institute (IKMa), as well as between the Jordan Enterprise Development Corporation and SME Corp Malaysia."


"He also invited me to a bilateral meeting with the Minister of Entrepreneur Development of Jordan during my working visit to Jordan in conjunction with the Asia Pacific Cooperative Ministers' Conference at the end of this month," he said in a statement to the media.


Ewon appreciates Ismael Maddallah's recognition of the relevant agencies in cooperative development and entrepreneurship in the ministry.


"Hopefully, this cooperation will continue to grow and be a blessing for Malaysia and the cooperation between the two countries," he said.


Ewon is scheduled to make a working visit to Jordan to attend the Asia Pacific Cooperative Ministers' Conference (APCMC) for five days from April 27 to May 1.


Also present during the visit were the Deputy Secretary-General of Policy and Monitoring of MEDC, Noor Afifah Abdul Razak, the Division Secretary of the Cooperative Development Division, Hawkers and Small Traders MEDC Azizul Alias, the Director-General of IKMa, Datuk Mohd Ali Mansor, the Chief Executive Officer of SME Corp, Rizal Nainy, and the Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Management) Rozdeen Mohd Jaafar.
