FIVE LOCALITIES IN FIVE DIFFERENT DISTRICTS UNDER EMCO STARTING JUNE 28

KOTA KINABALU: A total of five localities in five different districts will be placed under a 14-day enhanced movement control order (EMCO) starting Tuesday (June 28) until July 11.
Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Masidi Manjun said in Kota Kinabalu, the locality involved is Kepayan Prison with a cumulative total of 18 Covid-19 cases.
“In Kinabatangan, the locality that will be placed under EMCO is Sawit Bell factory and its housing area.
“Out of 157 individuals screened in the locality, 29 tests came back,” he said in a statement today.
Meanwhile, in Penampang the locality involved is Kampung Tuunon with eight positive cases recorded.
In Kudat, the locality that will be placed under EMCO is Kampung Perpaduan Ria 1 with nine positive cases recorded.
As for Kota Belud, the locality involved is Kampung Jawi-Jawi with a cumulative total of 12 positive cases.
Masidi added the decision to impose EMCO on these localities was made in order to restrict the public movement so that the virus will not spread to other communities.
