KOTA KINABALU: A total of five localities in Keningau, Kunak, Kota Kinabalu Tawau, and Kalabakan, will be placed under a 14-day enhanced movement control order (EMCO) starting Tuesday (22 June) until 5 July.

Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Masidi Manjun said in Kenignau, the locality involved is Kampung Skim Pamalan with a cumulative total of 30 Covid-19 cases.

“In Kunak, the locality that will be placed under EMCO is Kampung Jaya Baru with 20 positive cases,” he said in a statement today.

Meanwhile, in Kota Kinabalu the locality involved is Taman Wijaya Park with 12 positive cases recorded.

In Tawau, the locality involved is Kampung Serudung Baru where 10 individuals were detected positive in a short period.

Masidi added the decision to impose EMCO on these localities was made in order to restrict the public movement so that the virus will not spread to other communities.
