KOTA KINABALU: Hotels and homestay with restaurants in Sabah are now allowed to serve buffets with strict standard operating procedures (SOPs).
State Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun said among the SOPs are the use of MySejahtera or Sabah Trace apps, notebooks to record customers entering the premises and temperature scanning.
“Besides that, all customers must always wear their face mask when getting food at the serving counter, and use plastic gloves or hand sanitizers provided before using the serving spoon.
“A one-metre physical distancing must be observed by customers when queuing at the counters,” he said in a statement today.
Masidi said, restaurants or cafes on the premises are also allowed to operate for all full services including dine in, ala carte, room service, delivery and served buffet.
He said the restaurant in hotels can also receive guests in groups by practicing physical distancing and subject to the capacity of the restaurant.
"Mealtimes can be staggered or scheduled to avoid congestion or people gathering," he said.
