J&T Express Malaysia Strengthens ESG Commitment with Nationwide Sustainability Initiatives

KUALA LUMPUR: J&T Express Malaysia has announced a comprehensive suite of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives, reinforcing its dedication to responsible and sustainable business practices. As one of Malaysia’s leading express delivery service providers, the company continues to adopt practical measures that contribute to a greener logistics industry while creating long-term value for communities, employees, and partners.
In a significant move to reduce its environmental footprint, J&T Express Malaysia has successfully implemented the use of recycled polyethylene (PE) woven gunny bags across all warehouses and outlets in Peninsular Malaysia. Initially launched at two gateway facilities in March 2024, the initiative was progressively expanded and fully deployed by mid-November 2024. To date, approximately 310,000 woven gunny bags have been introduced across West Malaysia, with Sabah and Sarawak slated to follow in the near future.
This green initiative not only reduces plastic usage but also supports circular economy principles. To extend the lifespan and usability of the recycled bags, J&T Express Malaysia has invested in industrial sewing machines. Complementary technologies such as tunnel machines and RFID scanners have also been introduced to improve integration, and to enhance parcel sorting and tracking efficiency.
In addition to environmental efforts, J&T Express Malaysia remains committed to the well-being of its employees and the communities it serves.
