KOTA KINABALU: KPJ Sabah Specialist Hospital has organised several programmes to mark the holy month of Ramadhan and share the spirit of giving and caring with the less fortunate.

The hospital held its annual Majlis Berbuka Puasa on Monday, where it invited guests from Sabah Islamic Religious Council (MUIS), two orphanage homes, media partners, consultants, staffs, patients, and visitors.

The event was graced by Tuan Mohd. Adnan Rosdin Bin Datuk Haji Mohd. Aniff, Deputy Secretary of MUIS.

The hospital’s top management, led by Medical Director Prof. Datuk Dr. Ajaz Ahmad Nabijan and General Manager Mohamad Faizal Mohamed, handed out business zakat worth RM60,000 to MUIS and donations to Rumah Amal Kasih, Kingfisher and Madrasah Tahfiz Al-Quran Ar-Rahman, Tanjung Aru. They also gave duit Raya to 32 children from the orphanage homes.

Mohamad Faizal said the Majlis Berbuka Puasa was aimed at spreading the Ramadhan spirit of sharing and giving for the less-privileged members of society and forging closer rapport with the hospital’s management, consultants, and staffs.

He thanked everyone for attending the event and wished them the best of health and well-being during this month of fasting.

On Sunday, the hospital also organised its annual Bubur Lambuk programme in collaboration with Adabi Consumer Industries Sdn Bhd and Sazarice Sdn Bhd. Adabi sponsored sets of pots and other items for the bubur lambuk, while Sazarice sponsored rice for the bubur lambuk. Staffs from both companies also helped KPJ Sabah staff in cooking the bubur lambuk.

The programme is part of KPJ Sabah’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program which aimed at contributing back to the communities and bringing people together for a common cause that will benefit all.

The porridge was then distributed to the government local authorities, Sabah state government hospitals, corporate clients, general practitioners, foreign embassies, and motorists in front of KPJ Sabah bus stop.

In addition, KPJ Sabah also organised a Tazkirah Ramadhan on every Thursday. Invited speakers delivered various topics in conjunction with the month of Ramadhan.
