KUSKOP to hold National HPPK in Penampang, mini HPPK in Kadamaian this year - Ewon

KOTA BELUD: For the first time, the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperative (KUSKOP) will hold the national-level Hawkers and Petty Traders (HPPK) outside of Putrajaya this year.

Its minister Datuk Ewon Benedick said the event will be held in Penampang, while a mini HPPK carnival will be held in Kadamaian.

Before this, the ministry’s event held on Nov 18 every year has never been held outside of Putrajaya.

Thus, he said it is time that the event aimed to appreciate the hawkers and petty traders’ contribution towards the nation’s economy be held in Sabah.

“We will also hold Mini HPPK Carnival in Kadamaian to give opportunities to hawkers and petty traders here to celebrate the event.

“Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has given a go for this event to be held outside of Putrajaya,” he told reporters after the Majlis Ramah Mesra Sempena Sambutan Krismas dan Tahun Baharu 2023, at Kadamaian Square Open Hall here, today.

Ewon who is also Penampang MP said he also took note of the complaints of hawkers and petty traders at Taginambur Weekly Tamu.
