KOTA KINABALU: In conjunction with the fasting month of Ramadan, Le Méridien Kota Kinabalu invites guests to come together in a spirit of unity, reflection and shared traditions with its highly anticipated Kebersamaan Ramadan buffet at Latest Recipe.
Meaning “Togetherness in Ramadan”, the theme celebrates the joy of breaking fast with family, friends and colleagues, embracing the holy month in a spirit that transcends background, religion and race.
Available daily from 19 February to 20 March 2026, the Iftar buffet features more than 300 selections of main courses, pastries and condiments, complemented by vibrant live cooking stations that bring the sights, sounds and aromas of Ramadan evenings to life. The buffet is served from Iftar until 10.30pm.

The mouth watering offering includes Gulsi Telur, Lamb Bhuna, Daging Rendang, seafood sambal Gesek, Prawn Tempoyak, Paru Goreng Sambal Petai, Oxtail Assam Pedas, ikan bawal masak Tausi and Gulsi Lemak ikan Bakar. These are only a few of the delectable.
There are also pastry stations, noodles and lamb as well as satay. To fully appreciate the food, guests are invited to come to Le Méridien's restaurant ' Latest Recipe'.

Among the many must-taste food are signature dishes such as Aneka Rempah Sup Daging Borneo (Borneo-spiced beef soup), specially enhanced with Sabah’s own spices. The celebrated gearbox soup remains one of the most anticipated dishes, eagerly awaited by returning guests each year. Other stand-out offerings include Ekor Daging Assam Pedas Daun Selasih (spicy and sour oxtail stew with basil leaves), seafood bakar (assorted grilled seafood), and Kambing Golek Warisan 30 Rempah Ratus (heritage Mediterranean-style whole roasted lamb infused with 30 spices, served with traditional condiments and sauces).

Live cooking stations add further excitement, featuring seafood nasi goreng served on banana leaves, while comforting classics such as Bubur Lambuk Kampung Baru by Abang Boba — a richly spiced traditional rice porridge, bring familiar Ramadan flavours to the table. The buffet is further complemented by a selection of Chinese Muslim cuisine, showcasing the diversity of Malaysia’s culinary heritage.

Led by Executive Chef Abraham bin Lingcorn, supported by Executive Sous Chef Kelvin Kilin, Pastry Chef Cecilia Pei and Banquet Chef Juma Abudin, the culinary showcase reflects the team’s combined years of experience both locally and internationally. Together, they present a thoughtfully curated menu that fuses East and West Malaysian flavours with authentic Sabahan specialities, offering guests a rich and memorable gastronomic journey.
A unique and much-loved feature returns with Kedai Runcit Uncle Suresh (Uncle Suresh’s Mini Grocery Store). This nostalgic corner recreates a traditional neighbourhood sundry shop and features childhood favourites such as tikam-tikam, a lucky-dip game allowing children to win toys or snacks. For younger guests, it offers an exciting new experience; for the older generation, it provides a heartfelt walk down memory lane.

In line with ’s Serve 360 sustainability commitment, Le Méridien Kota Kinabalu continues to reduce its carbon footprint through responsible sourcing. All dishes are prepared using fresh, locally sourced ingredients from Sabah, supporting local producers while ensuring quality and authenticity.
“Our Kebersamaan Ramadan buffet is more than just an extensive spread, it is about creating meaningful moments around the table,” said Suresh Ramasamy, General Manager of Le Méridien Kota Kinabalu. “Ramadan is a time of reflection, generosity and togetherness.
