KOTA KINABALU: Books on the taboos and supernatural beliefs of the Kadazandusun people will soon be available for readers in the Kadamaian Constituency.

Its State Assemblyman Datuk Ewon Benedick has purchased 20 books authored by Anna Vivienne entitled ‘Hauntings and Ghostly Whispers’ and these will be distributed in his constituency.

“I am very grateful to Ewon for making the purchase as it is a form of encouragement for me to continue writing. It will also ensure that our youth will hone their English reading and comprehending skills, especially as the stories are written in simple English,” she said.

She added that Ewon had been very supportive throughout her writing endeavours and she was very grateful for his encouragement.

Speaking when presenting the 20 books at his office recently, she expressed her hopes that other community leaders in Sabah will also support her books by purchasing the distributing them to children and youth in their constituencies.

She also hoped that filmmakers will pick up her stories as they are interesting with a tad of the supernatural, which are usually interesting to local audience.

“Besides being entertaining, the stories contained within are also informative,” she stressed.

Anna Vivienne has written two books so far. Her first book is entitled Strange Magic and Supernatural Encounters, while her second book is entitled Hauntings and Ghostly Whispers.

The books can be purchased from the author, or at the art kiosk C4 Laman Seni at Lembaga Kebudayaan Sabah.
