TENOM: The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Industry (MAFFI) will introduce various initiatives to increase public participation in agriculture, particularly in the Melalap State Legislative Assembly (DUN) constituency, as part of efforts to strengthen food security.

Minister Datuk Jamawi Jaafar said the slogan “Berbudi Pada Tanah” (To Give Back to the Land) has been adopted to encourage the public to engage in farming, gardening, livestock rearing and other agriculture-related activities.

He said this when officiating the 2025 Student Appreciation Ceremony of Sekolah Kebangsaan Batu Tiningkang here today. His speech was delivered by his Private Secretary, Dairick Frannandez Daniel.

Jamawi, who is also the Melalap State Assemblyman, expressed his appreciation to the school management, the Parent-Teacher Association and the entire school community for their continued efforts in nurturing student excellence.

He said the annual ceremony aims to recognise students’ achievements in academics, co-curricular activities and character development, while also acknowledging the contributions of all parties involved in the school’s success.

According to him, the event also serves as a platform to strengthen ties between the school, parents and the local community.

He expressed hope that the recognition accorded to students would motivate them to continue striving for excellence, and thanked parents and guardians for their ongoing commitment and support.

Jamawi also expressed hope that Sekolah Kebangsaan Batu Tiningkang would continue to progress and excel, with more students receiving awards in the future.

He congratulated all award recipients and urged parents and the school to maintain harmony and cooperation in pursuit of continued excellence.

Meanwhile, he thanked residents for their support during the 17th State Election, reaffirming his commitment to delivering the best service as a minister in line with the aspirations and direction of the State Government.
