KOTA KINABALU: The Movement Control Order (MCO) 3.0 that was scheduled to end this coming Monday will be extended for another 14 days, said Senior Defence Minister Datuk Ismail Sabri.
He said the lockdown will go on until June 28 as suggested by the Ministry of Health and this was agreed upon during a National Security Council special meeting which was chaired by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
Ismail reasoned that the decision to extend MCO was made considering the Malaysia Covid-19 situation which has yet to see any positive improvement.
Today, Malaysia recorded a total of 6,849 new Covid-19 cases with a cumulative total of 646,411 cases, while Sabah remains with triple-digits caseload and reported 309 new cases today.
