NEXT THREE MATCHES WILL DECIDE KURNIAWAN'S FATE WITH SABAH FC

18 March 2021

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah FC management will re-evaluate the performance of its head coach Kurniawan Dwi Yulianto and the team in the next three matches before making any decision on the Rhinos squad.

Sabah FC manager Marzuki Nasir said the three consecutive defeats in the last three Super League matches were disappointing and the management had given a stern warning to Kurniawan following the lacklustre performance.

"The management will re-evaluate the performance of the team under Kurniawan since five import players joined and already featured in Sabah FC’s line -up.

"The management will hold a meeting in the near future to re-evaluate the level of coaching before making any decision in the interest of Sabah FC," he said in a statement here today.

In the last three Super League matches, Sabah FC lost 1-2 to Sri Pahang FC; 0-2 to Kedah Darul Aman FC; and 0-1 to Petaling Jaya City FC, besides a 1-1 draw in the opening match of the Super League against Melaka United FC.

Marzuki said the management would continue to be committed to ensuring that Sabah FC played to its true form and asked all parties, especially the fans, not to panic.

"The management believes that all Sabah FC players, the majority of whom are locals (Sabah), will be able to see a revival in the team's performance and to remain competitive in the Super League this season," he said. - Bernama
