NO NEW COVID-19 CASES RECORDED IN 20 DISTRICTS - MASIDI

KOTA KINABALU: For the first time since September 2020, a total of 20 districts in Sabah did not record any Covid-19 cases today, with only a total of 29 cases reported statewide in seven districts.


Sabah Covid-19 spokesperson Datuk Masidi Manjun said Nabawan recorded the highest number of new cases with 11 cases, seven cases in Tawau, six cases in Kalabakan, two cases in Keningau, and one case each in Kota Kinabalu, Sipitang and Tambunan.



“Of the total, 14 cases stemmed from close contacts, nine from existing clusters, five from symptomatic screening, and one from other category,” he said in a press conference today.


According to Masidi who is also Local Government and Housing Minister, there are a total of 447 active cases left in Sabah with 177 under treatment in the hospitals, including 21 in the intensive care unit (ICU) with five ventilated, and 269 in the Quarantine and Low-Risk Treatment Centres.


He said, a total of 126 patients have recovered from Covid-19 today, bringing the cumulative total of statewide recoveries to 52,995.
