PENAMPANG: Penampang Parliamentary Service Office will monitor the actions of authorities in resolving water issues in Taman Penampang.

Penampang Member of Parliament Datuk Ewon Benedick who is also the Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives, said this in response to complaints about water problems in the residential areas of Taman Suria and Taman Penampang.

"My Parliamentary Service Office has received these complaints, and they have taken steps to discuss the matter with the Water Department and the relevant housing management company.

"At the Water Department level, I have been informed that there are no issues with the water supply from the pipes to the housing tanks.

"There are some technical issues from the tanks to the individual units in Taman Suria and Taman Penampang. We should be aware that each unit has its own management and needs to pay the fees required to resolve and repair the leaks," he said.

He was speaking to reporters after officiating the Closing Ceremony of the Leadership Transformation Course for Outstanding Village Chiefs Series 8, 2023, in the Penampang District, at ILMAN Lecture Hall, here, today.

Ewon stated that if the matter is not resolved in the near future, he will intervene to help facilitate the resolution of the issue.

"In my opinion, the Water Department, management company, and homeowners each have their own responsibilities.

"If necessary, I will intervene to ensure that the matter is resolved promptly," Ewon who used to live there said.

"If there are still other needs, for example technical problems that cannot be solved and require financial implications or funding support from the government, then it is my responsibility to find initiatives. "

"But based on the written answer emailed to me by the company, they are implementing initiatives to resolve it," he said.
