Talk on entrepreneurship and cooperatives in four districts garner overwhelming response

PENAMPANG: A four-day tour was conducted to introduce and promote entrepreneurship and cooperative development in four districts.
Carl Mosoom, the Political Secretary to Datuk Ewon Benedick, the Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperative, represented the Minister during this tour. The tour covered the divisions of Ranau, Telupid, Tongod,Kinabatangan, and aimed to engage with the people on the subject of entrepreneurship and cooperative development
According to Carl Mosoom, the response to the tour was overwhelming. The target group for each session was 50 people, organised by Divisional Heads. However, each session reached about 100 people, which exceeded expectations.
This profound response aligns with the Minister's aim to eradicate poverty through entrepreneurship and education, he said adding that he is known for his dedication to engaging with entrepreneurs and fostering closer ties with them.
“He recognizes that SMEs are major economic contributors and significant providers of job opportunities. His agenda includes doubling engagement efforts with industry players and related associations to strengthen and develop the SME sector,” Carl said.
He was confident that, based on the attendees' overwhelming enthusiasm, the majority of them would consider entrepreneurship and cooperatives as viable means of livelihood after the talks.
He added that he also represented the Minister in Ranau where he officiated and presented RM2000 sponsorship for a dart competition organized a group called Maju Rakyat Sabah.
